FirstLove -- Ways to massage baby

There are certain ways in which we need to massage the baby and this was explained very well in a video I have seen on the TV. They show us exactly how the baby should be massaged with baby oil as it is not only beneficial for the blood circulation of the baby but also it strengthens the bones of the baby and makes them more active.

1. It is necessary to take utmost care of the baby's neck and back as a little pressure on the neck can harm the baby.
2. While putting oil on the baby, the nose, navel and ears should be avoided and it is better if cotton is place din the ears so that oil doesn't enter the baby's ears and any excess oil near the navel and nose should be wiped off. The oil can cause infections and hence it should be avoided and it can also cause respiratory issues.
3. The massaging should be done in an upward direction from the legs to the upper waist and this helps to improve the digestion and circulation of blood in the baby's body.
4. Massaging should be done gently and not in force. This helps the baby to enjoy the massage and not be cranky.
5. It is advised to keep the baby on a smooth and soft surface and not wear any ornaments while massaging the baby as it may cause any rashes on the baby's soft skin.
6. Talk to your baby while massaging it as it really helps to create a bond between the parent and the baby and that moment is always memorable and worth cherishing.
7. Once you notice that the oil is applied all over the baby's body, it should be washed off slowly and give the baby a bubble bath making sure the oil is completely removed as if any oil is left on the body, it can react with the skin and cause an irritation or rashes which can make the baby cranky at times.

Above and all, it is necessary to know which oil needs to be used on a baby as some oils suit certain weathers only. Usually it is preferred to use olive oil while other prefer branded oils like Dabur and Johnson's baby. It is advised to first test the body on your own skin before testing it on the baby as each baby's skin is quite different and it can easily cause rashes which makes it a concern for new born babies.
