A birthday gift

It was my dad's birthday and an occasion which we used to celebrate as a family. Eve though we din't have much money to buy him gifts, my mom used to make sweets and we all used to have a jolly time together.

It was 2012 and I decided to make this day special for my dad and buy him a gift that he would love and it would be useful to him as well. I had just started working and so I could afford to spend some money and buy him a good gift but I could not get what would be a gift that he would love and be happy using it.

My friends recommended me watches, suits, shoes and so on but these were things that would make him happy but may be the gifts may not match his choice and even though I could get him a suit that fits him, he might not like the color and design.

I then kept observing my dad on the weekend and saw what he likes to drink, eat and watch and then noticed a common factor that he used to rest on his chair that could give him the rest and make him feel comfortable. It struck my mind that why shouldn't I gift him a new chair as the one he was using as of now was over 10 years old and he did not replace it as he could get the comfort he wanted.

I then checked the brand and the size of the chair and then placed an order with an online shopping portal. I chose the option to pick up the product instead of getting the product delivered to my residential address as that would spoil my surprise. I placed the order and picked up the product after 3 days. I then wrapped it up and the next day, I presented it to my dad. He was so shocked and happy to see a new chair and he absolutely loved the design and color of the product.

My dad hugged me and there were happy tears in his eyes which made me get emotional. I could see that he wanted to thank me and tell me how much he loved me but that day I had told him how much he meant to me and this was just a small gift or appreciation from my end.

These small gestures can make our parents so happy and I made my dad proud of me that day.

The real meaning of Friendship

I had a friend in school who was quite reserved and shy. She used to barely interact with other students and even other students never made an effort to walk up to her and interact with her to make her feel comfortable. She was weak in studies and she used to sit in a corner and try to solve mathematics sums and equations on her own and even she used to have a lunch alone by sitting in the class itself while other students used to play around and have their lunch in the canteen.

I was in the fifth grade and was a part of a group. My friends used to not talk to her and when once I asked them about her, they told me to ignore her as she is not their type. The main reason was that she was not good looking and dark skinned and hence other girls used to boycott her because of her looks.

My mother always told me to be friends with everyone and especially with those who feel lonely or who are feeling boycotted as they always need a friend and there isn't any reason to boycott a child without any mistake of hers. This made me walk towards the girl and I shared my lunch box with her. She felt so happy to see me talking to her. I stretched out my hand and asked her to be my friend. This gesture brought a cute smile on her face and she  said that I was the only one who wanted to be friend as she was quite sad that nobody in the class even wanted to share her notes with her. I told her to ignore them as they don't know what friendship means and she was very nice within which was the most important fact.

After this incident, many of my friends asked me as to why I made friends with that girl and she wasn't worth of my friendship and I scolded them saying that they shouldn't be so judgmental and should respect her as she is also a student like they were. It was that day when I listened to my heart and followed my mom's words to always help the people who feel lonely and are boycotted. I made that girl feel special and this was the day when I felt that I can bring a smile on anyone's face with just a small gesture of friendship.

Tata Docomo Advert (A new innovation)

I recently watched Tata Docomo's advertisement wherein a girl changes her profile picture on Facebook and does not receive one like for 30 minutes and then one boy appears and likes her profile picture and makes her happy. The motive of the advertisement is to share happiness and for that a person needs to purchase Tata Photon and subscribe to the various data plans and the message of the ad is when you get unlimited data from Tata Docomo, make use of it to bring a smile on a person's face.

The ad is very simple and sweet and it gives a message to others than one can share happiness by just sharing a message online or liking a photograph or post. Friendship is portrayed as a mode of sharing a joke and make a person smile. A simple Facebook "Like" can make a person feel special and liked and it just requires one to make the first move and this was shown well in this ad.

Tata Docomo has been promoted many times on TV with each ad giving a different message for people who are active on social networking websites and for them a LIKE is as important as an appreciation and this makes them feel wanted and happy. When a person is sad, sharing a joke can make him feel better or when a person is working late at night, messaging them can make them work faster and not get bored.

These are just small things in life which go unnoticed and Tata Docomo has shown this in a very innocent and meaningful manner. Whenever I see this advert, it brings a smile to my face as the comic element in these ads is worth watching and appreciating. It does not contain any message of being a rival of another brand nor copies any other advert which makes it special and hence it is a watchable and loved ad.

The ad does explain how sharing images, videos, messages, jokes and using the internet and social networking websites can help to convert a message to another person and make them feel better no matter what are they going through and what they feel but however, the ad does not give a list of plans available by Tata Docomo nor mentions the speed of the internet which is a missing factor and it could be conveyed better to the audience.

Lipton Tea Advert not Appealing

Visit blogadda.com to discover Indian blogs
Recently I saw an advert of Lipton tea (which helps to burn fat) which is endorsed by Shraddha Kapoor (A Bollywood Celeb). The actor first wears a costume that makes her look overweight and the shooting goes on. She then talks about normal tea which contains calories as it contains milk and sugar. She then walks in a room and says that one can lose up to 2 kgs by drinking lipton green tea as she has also managed to stay fit. She then talks about herself saying that she is wearing a costume and then she removes it showing how slim she is.

The actor has been slim from the beginning and making her promote this brand honestly makes no sense and does not appeal to me as an audience. If they had taken a celebrity who has been known as overweight earlier and he would be saying that he has been a consumer of green tea and lost weight, it would relate to me as an audience more than actors who have been slim all their life. Even ads showing real life experiences or interviewing people who have been working on their weight and this brand changing their life and helping them reduce the weight would have been more relevant.

Ads should be more relevant and make logical statements in their ads and not make use of celebrities who are already slim or fair for fairness ads as the people who watch the ad would be left with an impression that the advert is giving our false claims and does not care about the audience. This advert as well seems to be claiming false results and they have not explained how the product can help an overweight person to lose weight and have not even explained the benefits of drinking the tea. The ingredients are not mentioned nor highlighted in the ad which would make the user or consumer more aware of the product and why he should have it.

If I go by this ad, it means that I wear an overweight costume while being thin and then claim that the brand has helped me in reducing my weight which is not a good thing as this gives out false information. We as consumers know that certain products are good for health and some don't give the required result but by watching these ads, it feels that the product is not going to work even if it does help a person lose weight.

Rice bucket challenge

It's great to see that after the success of the Ice Bucket Challenge, even India has taken up a new rice bucket challenge inspired from the former one. A woman from Hyderabad, India, decided to start a campaign called "Rice Bucket Challenge" wherein one needs to donate a bucket of rice to the needy people. This movement started few days back and an FB page has been created which already has 58000+ likes already and over 4000 pounds of rice have been donated to the poor and needy people. Every person who takes up this challenge and donates needs to take a picture with the person whom it is being donated to and then challenge more people to take up the challenge. It is similar to the Ice bucket challenge.

The lady who started this challenge is going to be awarded for her innovation and noble deed in the year 2015 and this makes my country so proud that people have started movements which can be so useful to the poor people here. Day-by-day more people are joining this movement and this will surely help the needy people and also will spread awareness among many.

Movie Posters Photoshopped

There are so many posters that are photoshopped before being released in public so that the pictures look great and attract the audience to the theatres as well. While some manage to create magic, some don't. Photoshop does help to modify and enhance the look of a poster or picture but sometimes it is done over the top which makes the picture look modified than original. The recent picture of the movie Bang Bang proves this as it looks that the picture has been modified and photoshopped.

My view on this is that not every picture needs to be modified or photoshopped as some pictures come out great on their own while the background can definitely be edited and photoshopped as well to suit the characters or actors. Photoshop is used to people as well to make their photograph look great but sometimes it is misused as well and this has been proven so many times that other pictures have been photoshopped and another person's face has been added in the picture. Movie posters too get photoshed e but not all pictures need to be photoshopped as they can look great even without any edits.

Gmail accounts to be hacked

There is a shocking news for Gmail users in which the article released mentioned that the credentials of 50 lac users using Gmail have been leaked. This news came out on the 11th of September and immediately all the users of Gmail got cautious and started changing their passwords. The fact is that there has been several instances where email accounts have been hacked and in spite of a strong security protocol followed by Google and other sites where users need to verify their account with a mobile number, still the accounts get hacked easily. Even business email get hacked easily which leads to big loss of data and confidential information.

The best thing for users to do is that not only set up a strong password for the account but also verify the same and do not save any personal information in that account which can be dangerous may it be contact details, bank details, copies of address, bills and so on which will be leaked when the email account gets hacked. It's best to keep the information safe with you rather than to save any information online.

iPhone 6 Review

Apple introduced its new invention, iPhone 6, on 9th September 2014. The new product is quite different from iPhone 5 and the earlier versions and it looks also unique compared to the earlier ones. This new iPhone has a 4.7 inch screen and is 6.9 mm thick. The body is thin and has curved edges with a silver body to give it a great design and shape. The sleep button is on the right hand side of the phone and not on the top as it was in the earlier versions. Along with these minute differences, the iPhone has an A8 processor which is 64 bit and is 13 percent smaller than iPhone 5 A7 processor and it can deliver up to 25 percent faster CPU and upto 50 percent faster GPU.

The memory too of this new version has been increased upto 128 GB which makes it possible to save a huge amount of data within the phone itself and the LTE as well is increased to 150 Mbps. The phone looks slimmer and it has an 8 MP iSight camera with an autofocus built in function. It has a Touch ID that helps one to lock and unlock the iPhone. The price of this product is 539 GBP.

Apple watch

I just love the new product of Apple which is called Apple watch. I have been using iPhone 5 which was better than iPhone 4 with regards to the apps and features that were introduced in the former product and this new launched product is better than most of the Apple products as well. This product is not yet available in the market will be made available in the year 2015. I lvoe it for the size and screen of this product and it can be used as a watch. The product is small but can be easily accessible and has all the apps preinstalled which were available in the earlier version as well. The apps can be arranged in a way the user desires and one can just zoom in and choose an app of their choice.

The price of this product is quite reasonable worth $349 and the screen size is 1.5 and 1.7 inches. The product is quite innovative and has features like one can unlock their Starwood hotel room with a tap on their device itself. It is in the shape of a smart watch and the design is just awesome.
